Anthony Janiga, MD
Dr. Janiga was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Loyola University of Chicago for his undergraduate degree, and Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine. He furthered his education by obtaining an immunodermatology Research Fellowship at the University of Chicago, and then his Residency in Dermatology at the University of Chicago where he served as Chief Resident in his final year there. During his Residency, he concurrently completed a Clinical Pharmacology Traineeship sponsored through the National Institute of Health.
During his career, he has had experience in all areas of dermatology, including both medical and surgical sides of the specialty. He has been active volunteering in his community, and has participated in medical missions in Central America, as well as teaching other physicians and Resident physicians over the years.
He has spent most of his approximately 30 years of Dermatology experience in solo private practice, but it very honored to be able to join Oak Dermatology and their community of expert Board Certified physicians and providers. He truly takes the approach of “treat others as you would treat yourself" approach, and encourages and promotes his patients to take an active role in their health care decisions.
Dr. Janiga is married to his wife Alina of 36 years, and resides in the western suburbs where he helped raise his two children, both physicians themselves now. Jenna, a board-certified dermatologist, and Michael, a resident anesthesiologist at Northwestern University in Chicago.
In his free time, he thoroughly enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family, especially the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and playing the guitar.
