This patient came to Oak Dermatology with concerns of red, bumpy, and thickened skin on the nose, a condition known as rhinophyma. Rhinophyma is often associated with advanced rosacea and can cause the nose to appear enlarged, uneven, and textured over time. He was treated by Dr. Jeffrey T.S. Hsu at our Naperville, IL dermatology office using a customized combination approach that included a highly specialized CO2 laser resurfacing technique. The goal of treatment was to carefully reduce excess thickened tissue, smooth irregular texture, and improve the overall contour and appearance of the nose. Following treatment, the patient experienced visible improvement in nasal texture, bumps, and thickened skin, resulting in a smoother and more refined appearance.
