This patient came to Oak Dermatology with concerns of red, enlarged, bumpy and thickened skin on his nose, a skin condition known as rhinophyma. Rhinophyma is a condition often associated with advanced rosacea, causing the nose to appear enlarged, uneven, and textured with time. Dr. Jeffrey T.S. Hsu treated him in our Naperville, IL office using a customized combination approach that included a highly specialized CO2 laser resurfacing technique. The goal of treatment was to carefully reduce excess thickened tissue, smooth irregular texture, and improve the patient’s overall contour and appearance of his nose. This treatment provided visible improvement in his nasal texture, thickened skin, and bumps, resulting in a smoother appearance of his nose.
